The recently published DfE White Paper sets out the expectation that schools should deliver a school week of at least 32.5 hours by September 2023 for all pupils. As a result of this updated guidance, please see below regarding our school day at Bassingham Primary School.
Start of the Day (8.50am – 9.00am)
- The school gate will be opened by either Mr Betts or Mrs McClymont
- Pupils will walk sensibly onto the school playground as normal to meet their friends
- Parents are also welcome to accompany their children onto the school playground
- This is not mandatory, pupils can still walk onto the school playground by themselves
- All class teachers will be on the school playground from 8.50am–9.00am each morning
- The whistle will be blown at 9.00am, children will line up with their relevant classes
- All parents/carers are to leave the school site once the whistle is blown
- Please leave promptly so that we can get all of the children into school on time
- The school gate will be closed just after 9.00am
End of the Day (3.30pm)
- All pupils will finish school at 3.30pm each day
- Pupils in Reception and Key Stage 1 will leave via the small gate
- Pupils in Key Stage 2 will leave via the main gate
In order for drop off and collection to run as smoothly as possible, please consider the following:
- Where possible, wait on the grass area next to the Tennis Courts
- Arriving at school by foot will minimise congestion
- Pupils can arrive on their bikes/scooters but storage is minimal at school
- We would encourage parents/carers to take bikes/scooters home
- Be mindful of safety in the school car park during these busy times
- Please ensure your child is supervised before and after school to avoid any accidents
